About

Domantas Pūras is a Lithuanian composer, sound artist and sound engineer. His work explores the intersections of acoustic instruments, electronics, field recordings, spatial sound and experimental performance. Moving between concert music, theatre, installation and live electronics, he creates long-form sonic environments shaped by repetition, ritual, memory and altered listening. He is a member of the electronic trio El Chico Fuendre and co-runs El Chico Records, where he records, mixes and masters.

He studied composition and digital production at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (BA 2022, MA 2024), with an exchange at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH) in 2023. His path began on the double bass at the Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium. In 2023 an M. K. Čiurlionis Incentive Scholarship funded Like an Underground River, his work for organ and electronics. He is a member of the Lithuanian Composers’ Union.

Alongside composing, he leads creative and international projects: artistic director of the Druskomanija festival, senior specialist in the International Relations Office of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he builds Erasmus+ and Nordplus programmes, and initiator of independent projects supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and LATGA, from concept and budget to production and delivery. He has also created and hosted a radio programme for LRT Klasika and taught electronic music at the Muzikalkė camps.
