The Folds is a duo from Vilnius — Domantas Pūras (piano, keyboards, electronics, guitar) and Dominykas Snarskis (drums, percussion). Their music sits at the intersection of ambient, drone, electroacoustic improvisation, contemporary classical, krautrock and what the duo themselves call ritual jazz — long-form, hypnotic, ceremonial.

Their debut EP The Folds (released February 2025) was, in the duo’s words, “first a gift to ourselves, a ritual, a drive through a beautiful landscape, a spirit, and a hypnosis.” The EP comprises two extended pieces — Haze (16:44) and River Spirits (14:05). Reviewing their showcase at Vilnius Mama Jazz 2025, Jazzwise highlighted their set as one of the standout performances of the festival, citing the way they “built up a dense, strengthened mass of accessible hardness” drawing on Germanic 1970s repetition-based traditions.

The Folds are currently working on a new full-length album, scheduled for release later in 2026.
